Great location
The Chennault Aviation & Military Museum honors the story of General Chennault’s Flying Tigers and their amazing defense of the Chinese people during WWII. The bilingual “Way of a Fighter” Exhibit houses the largest collection of Chennault artifacts and correspondence in the U.S. Spanning all wars from Civil War to Iraqi Freedom, this museum honors veterans, soldiers, and patriotism. NE Louisiana’s important role in aviation and military history is showcased with over 11,000 artifacts and several restored aircraft on static display. The museum is housed in one of the last remaining structures of Selman Field Navigation School, the largest navigation school in the U.S. during WWII. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.
